Lorraine Jones

My memories of beautiful Lorraine began in the mid 1970s where I was so lucky to have been friends with her in the WRNS in Naples. We had so much fun together! We continued our friendship after the WRNS as she lived with her parents not far from mine and I was so happy when she and David got married and had Carris. We did lose contact when I moved to the States but the joys of Facebook brought us back in touch. I will miss her lovely smile, her sense of fun, her determination, her creativity and her joyful loving heart. Rest in peace Lorraine xoxo

Lorraine, there are so many wonderful things to remember - sat at the kitchen table exploring cookery books for new recipes and dishes to try; cheese, cornichons, bubbles and ‘light puddings’; puppies, poultry and piglets; Tess, Evie, Ginny and Sam; chopping and stacking logs; lighting a fire and then a glass of red; a walk round the field with Tess, chasing her to rescue another t-towel; trips on ferries and planes; working with tractors and trailers; Spring and Autumn colours; Motown and soul; chatting about our inspirational kids, and more recently our grandkids; so many shared memories. I’ll KBO but I’m gonna miss you Raine. With love and gratitude for a great friendship, Jo xx

Such a shock and such a loss. Forever the trooper Lorraine, always finding the strength to push on and never one to make a fuss. Incredible human being who will leave such a huge empty space on earth. Fly high Lorraine, and protect your loved ones from the other side. Our thoughts are with David and your family as they try to come to terms with you being taken too soon.

What a real privilege to have known you Lorraine. Such a strong, creative, committed, lovely woman. Inspirational. I'll always remember you and David hauling my car out of the mud each side of your drive in torrential rain. You saw the funny side when I didn't. Rest in peace.
